How To Boil Corn On The Cob
Ah, yes, it’s that time of year again…summer’s here!! That means sun, pools, grillin, and…sweet corn! So, just how long does it take to boil sweet corn? Here’s a sure way on how to make your sweet corn perfect:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Add a little sugar, not much. Do not add salt, because it will take away those juicy bites and make the kernels tough.
- Put ears of corn in, cover, and let them boil for about 8 minutes.
- After 8 minutes, remove from heat.
- Grab some oven mitts and very carefully, leave lid on and drain water out of pot. Leave cobs in covered pot for another 2 or 3 minutes. This will allow corn to “steam” for a couple more minutes, making them that much crispier and juicy.
- Butter, salt, and enjoy!
